<span style="font-size: 8pt">Police chief Kale Kayihura has said the act by a police officer of molesting FDC women’s league head, Ingrid Turinawe, by squeezing her breast is a minor, isolated incident that should not be blown out of proportion.
Speaking ahead of World Press Freedom Day last week, Lt Gen Kayihura said the law allowed the police to use maximum force when a suspect resisted arrest.
“Yesterday, I was watching BBC depicting a woman protester in a security meeting about Al-Qaeda in the USA. A huge policeman there lifted this woman by her breasts and threw her out of the hall. Nobody made an alarm of a brutal police force in USA because, this, like Ingrid’s case, was an isolated incident,” said Kayihura, adding that he cannot resign over such a matter.
